Description |
This is a digital born record. No physical copy exists within the Grimsby Museum collections. A black and white photograph of five women standing outside on a sunny day. Two are wearing housecoats, while three are wearing pants and flannels. These three are looking at the camera and smiling. The one in the centre has a towel on her head and is distracted by something behind her. The one on the far right isn't wearing shoes. The one on the far left has a towel in her hands and is frowning. There are two single-storey buildings in the background; a woman is entering the one on the right. There is a row of trees beyond these buildings. On the back of the image is a caption written in pencil which reads: "Farm 1945. L-R Swartzy Edie Tait Parkie Mary Noble" Also on the back of the image is the number "339" stamped in red ink. This photograph was mounted in an album on a black page titled "The Big Water Fight." Written underneath it in white pencil was the caption: "Swartzy, Edie, Tair, Parker, Mary" |
