Description |
This is a digital born record. No physical copy exists within the Grimsby Museum collections. A black and white photograph of 6 women on a wooden porch extending off a single-storey wooden building with two visible windows and a chimney. Five of them are smiling at the camera and are in a seated position (save for one, who is laying on her stomach and is propped up on her elbows). One of the women in the back has her eyes closed and appears to be resting against the building's side. On the back of the image is a caption written in black inkj which reads: "L-R- Bea Waterhouse Jean Nesbitt Ruth Abernethy Lois Allsopp Betty MacDonald Evelyn Boisinneau D'Arcy Cropp Camp 1945" Also on the back of the image is the number "945" stamped in black ink. This photograph was mounted in an album on a black page titled "The Big Water Fight." Written underneath it in white pencil was the caption: "Closed Night" |
