Sepia photograph of a group of people in front of tents 'Jolly Camp & Camp Jolly'. Written in pencil on reverse: "Daddy Beattie as young man camping out at Grimsby Beach" Written in ink on reverse: "The pencilled note here is my mother's writing of about 1910 though picture is 1889 or 1890. He would be 20 years. Isaac Middleton Beattie was born July, 1869 at Streetsville which was "Trafalgar" at that time. The ink dot at right is him - my father. He married in 1905 and lived in Toronto from then on." Original of 999.19.19 Duplicate of 999.19.20 Photograph is a duplicate of 999.19.19 |
